I was rooting around in my tea pantry this morning and came across a stray bag of Darvilles of Windsor English Breakfast which must have been hidden in the back for a number of months. Originally it was sent as a “free extra” from www.BritishTea.com (they seem to always include a handful of free teabags, which is a nice touch). I previously reviewed Darvilles’ Earl Grey and privately raved about their “Royalty” blend (mental note: must order some more of this), but I never got around to trying the English Breakfast.
Consider this oversight rectified.
Turns out, its quite a hearty English Breakfast tea with a bit of a peppery bite. There’s a slight smoky essence hidden deep within the flavor, so faint that its hardly noticeable. Once again, Darvilles of Windsor comes up with a simple, well-blended tea that hits all the right notes. I’m not much of an English Breakfast drinker myself, but certainly if this were served to me at a restaurant I’d be more than happy to drink it.
