Review: Celestial Seasonings Madagascar Vanilla Red

I grew up drinking Celestial Seasonings tea, easily accessible at any grocery store. While I admit its certainly not the highest quality tea available, they have quite a few satisfying blends. I know that a lot of tea drinkers think they are terrible, and of course I’ve experienced some not-so-great cups myself (as is the case with all tea companies), but all in all I don’t feel that Celestial Seasonings is the bane of tea. Its affordable and pleasant.
Madagascar Vanilla Red imparts a pale, pretty red hue to your cup. It smells like vanilla beans, and whats more, you don’t have to hold the cup to your nose to enjoy it. The flavor is smooth and velvety. The rich vanilla taste pairs exceptionally well with the mellow red tea. If you’re looking for a sweet, soothing cup, this one is for you.
It would’ve been easier to write this review (and probably would’ve been more substantial in length) if I could find more wrong with this tea, but I simply can’t. While not the most brewed tea in my cabinet, it is definitely one of the most indulgent.

I was dismayed to find that my neighborhood supermarket no longer has room on its shelves for Celestial Seasonings Madagascar Vanilla Red. I will have to drive a few extra blocks from now on!

While most “tea snobs” probably turn their nose up at a common grocery store tea, my wife and I both think this is probably the best cup of tea we’ve ever had. We both are professional, normal people who know what tastes good to us. This tea is exceptional and we were both very surprised and excited to find such a good tea that is easy to get and at a very reasonable price.

This tea was exceptional. I would buy it more often if my local grocery store would carry it. Frisco: I’m in the same situation.
