"A classic blend and a cool weather favorite. Full-leaf black tea with cinnamon, orange peels and flavoring. Try with your favorite muffin!"
I'm not particularly sure why this tea should be paired with my "favorite muffin" (lemon poppy, by the way) but that's neither here nor there. This tea is a blend of full-leaf black tea with orange peel, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and indeterminant "flavoring". I tasted just about everything except the vanilla, which, if it was there at all, just wasn't pronounced enough to have a noticeable effect.
The dominant flavor here was from the cloves, with the cinnamon and orange coming in a tie for second. SpecialTeas doesn't say what exactly are included in the "flavorings", so that's anyone's guess.
As a spiced-orange tea, this is pretty good, though the prevalence of the clove flavoring is a bit more than I generally prefer. It dominates the other flavors a bit too much and leaves a slightly medicine-like feel on the tongue in the aftertaste. It does finish with some natural sweetness on the lips, which is a nice touch.
Overall, a very pleasant cup of tea. Probably not a repurchase for me - mostly because I don't do very many spiced teas (apart from Chai). But those who do genuinely enjoy spiced teas would likely find this to be worth a try.
