dragon-pearl-oolong.jpgThe premium oolong tea that Dragon Pearl Teas offers is straight out a wonderful tea. According to their website the oolong tea is an Organic Ti Kwan Yin (Iron Goddess), which means its origin is from the Anxi county in the Fújiàn province of China. They say that the tea was made machine-free which increases the quality of tea leaves you're going to get as well as grown pesticide free. I've had a few other teas in the past that were labeled "organic" and ended up not offering much in the flavor department, this one gave me hope for organic tea.

The tea looks really nice for oolong before it is brewed, and even better post-brew. The leaves open up to a very nice size which means less tea you have to use per cup, saving money for you. Of course you could always use the amount you usually use and enjoy a wonderful cup full of flavor. Looking through the leaves after I had used them I found really nice sized leaves well intact and even a few tips of 2 and 3 leaves still together on the stem.

You get the flavor you would expect from an oolong and plenty more. Nothing needs to be added to this one as it has just the right amount of sweetness on its own. As you sip you'll notice the smooth nuttiness of this oolong but you're than almost immediately hit with the wonderful floral notes that I really love in oolongs. It's well balanced, nothing is overpowering, and there's no bitterness whatsoever. The aftertaste lingers quite long and I enjoyed every moment of that as well. It's a really good mouthful and not like other teas that may seem weak or thin after brewing. I could easily drink this every day!
