Review: Den’s Tea Cherry Sencha

This evening I sampled two teas that have become among my favorites. One is a cherry sencha from Den’s Tea. It is a Japanese sencha with cherry blossoms and cherry flavoring. It is a good quality sencha, with the usual sweet and slightly bitter/grassy flavor that I happen to like. The cherry flavoring is subtle but compliments the sencha in such a way as to make it enjoyable both hot and iced. The basic flavoring retains itself through a second cup, undoubtedly due to the use of real cherry blossoms in the tea. Of course, this is also why this particular tea is available for only a limited time in the spring. I have enjoyed several of Den’s green tea choices, but this is definitely one of my favorites!
