I enjoy the occasional tiramisu dessert, and I’ve generally loathed yerba mate teas, so I was definitely conflicted with this one. Still, I gave it the old college try and found it to be a pretty good dessert tea.
The earthy bitterness of the roasted mate (which is usually a big turn off for me) actually compliments nicely the sweetness of the chocolate flavor and the warmth of the vanilla and hazelnut. The result isn’t quite the same as a tiramisu, but its likely about as close as you’ll ever get to it in the form of a tea.
That said, its probably not a repurchase for me. Those who really enjoy mate tea might find this more to their liking. For me its more of a curiosity - if I really am in the mood for a tiramisu, I’ll just order one from the local Italian restaurant.
Ingredients are: roasted mate, cocoa kernals, flavoring, white chocolate chips, crocant bits (sugar, hazelnut), vanilla bits.
