Its OK"A basic, mellow ceylon tea... there are better out there, though this one would likely fare well as an iced tea."

adagio-ceylon-sonata.jpgCeylon teas are named for their origin, which is the island of Sri Lanka off the coast of India. This may not make sense, but the island was once referred to as the island of Ceylon but was changed in 1972. When the name of the island changed however, the title in the tea world stuck and they continue to be called ceylon teas.

I was happy to see that Adagio’s Ceylon Sonata black tea originated from the Kenilworth estate as I have tried tea’s specific from the Kenilworth estate before from other places online. This is not the best tasting I have had from the estate but beyond that it is still a very nice basic ceylon tea. It makes a very smooth cup that puts in mind a cup of coffee with lots of milk in it. A wonderful mellow tea that could make for a good everyday tea and would probably be a good base if you wanted to mix with other teas or add in your own flavors, and there is always iced tea which ceylon tea makes wonderfully. Overall a good tea but there is better ceylon’s out there from the Kenilworth estate.
