Mighty Leaf describes this blend thusly:
“The relaxing qualities of vervaine, lemon balm and catmint combine with Vitamin C-rich berries, licorice and lavender in this fragrant blend marked with citrus and spice. Antiseptic and cholesterol reducing, it balances the body and mind with each sip.”
The ingredients are lavender, verbena, licorice, lemon balm, catmint and hawthorne berries.
This tea doesn’t have the amount of bold flavor that I found previously in their “Organic Detox,” but its still a pleasant, subtle herbal blend that is well-suited to the name “Sanctuary.” I can’t say that there’s really a primary flavor here, except possibly for the licorice, which provides a bit of natural sweetness at the end. (Additional sweeteners in this tea would not be needed.) Even though lavender is listed as the primary ingredient, this blend is far from being a “floral” tea. Hints of lavender are definitely there, but this is primarily a more vegetal herbal tea.
Personally I prefer my herbal teas with a bit more flavor, but with a name like “Sanctuary” I suppose they’re reaching out for the meditative/relaxation market, where subtle and soothing mixes are more appreciated. On that level, I enjoyed this tea. Its not something I’d purchase again for myself, but I could see this being a popular blend among the meditative set.
