specialteas-blueberry-cockt.jpgI have issues with blueberry tea. I love blueberries and I love tea, and with so many blueberry teas available you’d think I’d be able to find the perfect cup.

Not so much.

The most luck I’ve had is Adagio’s white blueberry, which is very good, but very delicate. I want a blueberry tea that packs a punch of juicy blueberry flavor!

My problem with black blueberry tea is that no matter the brand, no matter how I steep, there’s just barely a touch of blueberry flavor. Sometimes I can’t detect any at all. …sometimes they replace what should be blueberry flavor with some horrible mystery flavor that shouldn’t be present in any kind of tea, ever (like Republic of Tea blueberry black).

Herbal blueberry tea has also posed a problem for me. The couple I’ve tasted, had entirely too much lemongrass in them, so much so it covers up the blueberry flavor almost completely. The lemon puckers you mouth, it’s so strong. I’ll mention Stash, because theirs was weighed down the most with lemongrass. I love Stash and buy from them often, but they seem to have a problem with throwing lemongrass in almost every fruity herbal they’ve got.

Now that you know my complete background with blueberry tea, you can imagine how overjoyed I was to find there is no lemongrass in this herbal tea! None! I was even more thrilled to open the bag and find real blueberries inside.

It has a wonderful blueberry scent and brews up a beautiful, deep purple hue. The flavor is as close to real blueberries that I’ve had. There’s the slightest grape undertone in the tea, providing an unusual, welcomed finish.

Put your tea preferences aside for this one. If you like blueberries, this tea is worth trying.
