A friend tasting this tea with me described this tea as “bittersweet comfort in a cup” I’m not sold on the term bittersweet, but it has a strong flavor that balances with a sweetly mellow taste. Even as you open the bag a warm, inviting smell wafts up, reminding me of the scent of spices bubbling on the stove. Anyone who loves chai just needs to get a whiff of this and they will be hooked.
It starts with a nice peppery bite and leaves you with the meditative aftertaste of the vanilla. I need to state that I have a thing for ginger, this tea does not disappoint the ginger lovers out there, it allows the spiciness of the ginger and cinnamon to shine through while leaving you with the warming vanilla in a perfect blend. Someone who likes their chai with lots of bite to it may be disappointed with this one but the balance is very pleasing to my taste.
