I love fruit, especially berries and melons. When it comes to tea, I prefer honey dew over the more cantaloupe tasting melons, but I enjoy both.
This melon white is a cantaloupe melon that is similar to Dragonwater’s melon white (though I think theirs has a little more flavor). When I was looking up the brew time for this one, I noticed the ingredients, and this tea isn’t vegan. I should’ve checked beforehand, but with a fruity white tea, I assumed I didn’t have to. Out of curiosity, I then went to Dragonwater’s site, and low and behold - their’s isn’t vegan either.
Anyway, the only thing that wasn’t pleasant about this tea (and I really can’t explain this), was the slight vinegar scent I detected before I brewed it. Once brewed, you can’t smell or taste anything like that, so it’s not a problem, and won’t affect my rating whatsoever (neither will it not being vegan).
It’s clean and mild, the melon flavor matching up nicely with the strength of the white tea.
Overall, I’d say this pale brew is good, but not exceptional. There would be a good chance I’d buy it again if it were vegan.
