Review: Mighty Leaf Mocha Pu-er Truffle

The star of the show in this blend is the pu’er tea, which takes center stage on the tongue and doesn’t ever let it go. There’s a rich, smoky, earthy flavor in these leaves, reminiscent of a batch of freshly-picked mushrooms. The mocha flavor creeps in on the sides of the tongue, just adding a bare hint of creamy sweetness to the mix, and gradually growing stronger in the aftertaste.
I really enjoyed this tea, and if I had one quibble its just that the brew wasn’t quite as bold as I’d have liked. That may just be because I didn’t use enough leaves, or I didn’t let it brew long enough - next time I’m going to give it a little extra in both arenas and see what the results are. But all the same, this was an excellent tea and one I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
