Its OK"Not bad as a regular black tea, but not quite as flavorful a dessert tea as the name might lead you to expect."

specialteas-almond-cookie.jpgThe website describes the tea in this way:”The warm, toasty, cinnamon-almond flavor and aroma of our Almond Cookie will bring back memories of those windmill shaped cookies you used to find packed in your lunchbox! Sit back and let the comforting flavor of this amazing tea chase away the winter blues. Fast becoming a staff favorite!” First of all, I have no recollection of these windmill shaped cookies, secondly, I was honestly disappointed with this blend. That being said the taste was not bad, but in comparing the taste to the amazing aroma that is produced by both the dry leaves and the brewed tea, it does not measure up. Your tongue is left waiting for what your nose had been promising.

Ingredients in this tea are: tea, almonds, cinnamon, flavoring, safflower blossoms. “Flavoring” just seems a little ambiguous to me. I do not taste much more than the tea and a hint of some vague flavor, that I think is the almonds, the cinnamon taste never made its presence known. I was excited to see what taste the safflower blossoms would add but with this tea I think they may be doing little more than helping the tea look a little prettier. Eventually I added a splash of vanilla soy milk, which helped, but was an obvious attempt at tampering with the flavor.

In summary, this would not be bad as a basic everyday tea, but if you are looking for a flavorful dessert tea as the name would lead you to expect, I would recommend that you keep looking.
