Although this tea is organic, I don’t think that it’s all that good, and here is why. The tea leaves smell wonderful before you brew them. They are very nice, but not whole leaves. They are chopped and broken up, but smell delicious.
However, once you brew this tea you will get something a little different. The smell to this nicely honey colored brew is also very good. It is very flowery, with a strong jasmine scent. But, when you take your first sip you will be in for a surprise! I took my first sip and was taken aback. How could such a delightful looking/smelling tea taste so….terrible? It literally tastes like you just drank jasmine tea with battery acid mixed in it. It has a down right awful bitter aftertaste as well. It just dries out your throat and makes it scratchy feeling.
I was sure that this one cup (that I could not finish) was just a fluke or that I let it steep too long, although I brewed it for 3 minutes which is pretty standard for most loose teas. So I made another cup, brewing it for 2 minutes, but it still had that weird acid taste to it. I brewed another cups at 1 minute and although it was average tasting and lost the bitterness, it then had no flavor at all…Sad to say, none of the different times seemed to work.
I would not recommend this tea to Jasmine tea lovers.
