Review: The Necessiteas Strawberry Cheesecake

After my surprisingly-delicious experience with Necessiteas’ “Strawberry Banana” flavored green tea yesterday, I couldn’t help but try to tempt fate twice by sampling their “Strawberry Cheesecake” blend this morning. This one is a black tea, Ceylon, mixed with real strawberries and “cheesecake flavors”. It is, according to www.thenecessiteas.com, a “staff favorite,” and certainly after brewing it up this morning, I can see why.
Once again the strawberry flavor here is bright and fresh and delicious, with nary a hint of the artificiality you find in many other “strawberry” teas. It pairs very nicely with the rather mellow Ceylon base used in this blend so that its neither overpowering to nor overpowered by the raw tea flavor. There is a creamy background flavor which you pick up mostly in the aroma and aftertaste which definitely brings cheesecake to mind.
The mixture of the malty, almost toasty Ceylon leaves with the fresh, fruity sweetness of strawberries and creamy richness of the cheesecake flavoring is truly just about perfect. This is the sort of quality you would expect - but very rarely find - from the higher-priced, “artisan” tea dealers. Whatever it is that Linsey Manning is doing at The Necessiteas… I hope she keeps on doing it. The two flavored tea samples I’ve tried so far have been simply outstanding.

I love, love, love this tea! I have been on a strict diet and I drink this one almost daily, it gives me the kick of sweetness that I crave but cannot have in a regular dessert. At night I usually have the carrot cake,that one is amazing as well!
