I’m a big fan of fruit infusions. I have to state that up front on this review because Art of Tea’s “Plum Oolong” is really much more like a Plum tisane. I see oolong leaves floating around in my teapot, but I’ll be darned if I could detect them through the thick, fruity tang that completely dominates this brew.
If you enjoy fruit infusions, like I do, you’ll undoubtedly enjoy this brew. The flavor is bold and tart, but still naturally sweet. But if you’re an oolong fan expecting to actually taste oolong tea, you may be a bit disappointed here. Really, in my opinion, this could have easily been just an herbal tisane, with no tea whatsoever, and it wouldn’t have changed the taste very much at all.
