It seems that I have missed what has been a good run of teabags from Jacksons of Piccadilly. They seem to have discontinued all of these type of teabags and focus more on loose and fine teas. This is nothing that I can complain about at all, I really appreciate that a company like this wants to improve its products.
I am a very big fan of Darjeeling tea and Jacksons of Piccadilly boasts that it is “known as the champagne of teas” on the back of the wrapper. Indeed Darjeeling tea can be compared to the characteristics of champagne, but it requires a good quality Darjeeling to bring out the qualities they are famous for. With that said, this one was not half bad at all. There was the obvious tea bag flavor that you get from lower quality tea but it was only a little bit in the background. The nice smooth and sweet of Darjeeling tea came through without a doubt although it doesn’t compare much too loose brands, but isn’t that usually the case. I would say I would buy these for on the go or a quick cup of Darjeeling but it seems I won’t be able to. I’ve had some of the last in existence…
