Review: Art of Tea Ginger Matcha

I’ve been wanting to try matcha for over a year now, and this is my first expirience with the richly colored tea.
The matcha smells fresh and brews up a note-worthy jade green hue. Where taste is concerned, it’s definitely pleasant, but I do want to note that I don’t have anything to compare it to. It’s smooth and has no bitterness or bite. Art of Tea describes it as sweet, but I wouldn’t necessarily agree. However, it doesn’t have any astringency.
Overall, I consider my first experience with matcha a positive one. My only complaint is that Art of Tea calls this “ginger” matcha, and there’s no ginger taste to be found here. There may be the slightest touch of spice in the aftertaste, but you really have to pay attention to even get that.
I will try different types of matcha from other places before I order more of this, but this is a fairly good tea. I would’ve given it a seven, but they lose a point for the lack of ginger.
