I'm a sucker for energy drinks. My caffeine addiction started in Junior College, bloomed in my days at the Treasure Island Job Corps Center, and thrived up until a few months ago. I've slowly been working my way away from syrupy soda in favor of far less fattening Teas and Tisanes. The downside is that my, now caffeine addicted, brain is constantly jonesing for the good stuff. As I have no taste for coffee, I was hoping that maybe Radioactivitea, by Zoomdweebies, would satisfy my cravings, and help to mitigate the daily shock to consciousness. The dry tea leaves had practically no aroma to them at all. I thought I smelled some very interesting things, but those were coming from the neighbors barbecue. This left me with little expectation for this tea, when it comes to my tastes I'm very much lead by the nose. The smell improved considerably when I tossed it into some boiling water. It had a strong, earthy odor that was very inviting and promised a mild black tea experience. What it delivered was a mild, but quite tannic, black tea. It wasn't anything particularly remarkable, but still very drinkable. If you want a solid black tea, then Radioactivitea won't disappoint.
As advertised this tea did give me a little bit of an energy boost. Its about the same pick-me-up you'd get from a Breakfast Tea, nothing really out of this world, but enough to help you get your day started, or get it back in gear during the lunch time slump.
