Review: The Necessiteas Caramel Oolong
Caramel Tea, Marigold Tea, Oolong Tea, The Necessiteas Add comments"Not quite the sweet and decadent experience you'd expect, but still an enjoyable and uniquely-flavored oolong tea."

Ingredients: Formosan oolong mixed with real caramel pieces and marigold flowers.
I’ll admit I wasn’t sure what to expect from this blend at first. I guess I was primarily expecting a sweetly decadent dessert tea. That’s not really how I’d describe this - there is some natural sweetness here, but its very subtle. The malty, vegetal taste of the Formosan oolong is still the primary flavor here, accented just slightly with the essence of caramel. Its a taste that definitely grew on me… it was a bit odd at first, but the more sips I took the more I found myself enjoying this brew.
I don’t know that I’d ever find myself craving this, but I’m certainly glad I tried it. Many flavored blends are so loaded with outside flavors that you can’t really taste the actual tea - that’s not the case with this one. You can still definitely taste and even appreciate the subtleties of the oolong base here… the caramel flavoring doesn’t overpower or cover it up, it just adds a slight twist to it.
