I was really excited to try this tea since I am a guilty of being a big time chocoholic. The aroma of the leaves was amazing and I could definitely detect the chocolate. In addition to black tea the ingredients included jasmine flowers, vanilla bean, orange peels, chocolate chips and cacao nibs. I brewed this tea using the Zarafina tea suite, set on strong black tea. The brew had a rich amber color and still had the same wonderful smell.
Unfortunately, the taste left me very disappointed. It wasn’t necessarily bad; it just wasn’t what I expected it to be. I am usually a big fan of Mighty Leaf but I could just barely taste the chocolate or the orange peels. I tried to add milk since I had heard that it can bring out the chocolate but that left it devoid of any flavor at all. There was a weird bitter aftertaste as well. I probably would not buy this tea in the future.
