Jasmine pearls are a Chinese favorite for good reason and these are a good example. This Fujian Province tea comes in the form of jasmine-scented green tea leaves wrapped tightly into pea-sized spheres. These "pearls" have a mixed green and light green color and a pleasant, typical jasmine aroma.When you brew jasmine pearls, they unfurl into their constituent leaves and release even more of their definitive fragrance, which is always a fun process to observe. These leaves produce a light gold brew with a very enjoyable, lightly sweet taste. The fragrance is also just right--strong yet not overpowering or artificial. The flavor is also good in that it is neither too bland, nor is it bitter or acrid--a problem many jasmines seem to have in my experience. I can definitely recommend this tea as an authentic Chinese floral green.
