Thumbs up!"The almond and cinnamon flavors take center stage here in a blend that would work wonderfully as a dessert accompaniment."

specialteas-almond-cookie.jpgThe dry leaves of this tea are very attractive to the eye. The large slivers of almond are a pleasant addition to the subtle aroma of cinnamon. The aroma of the brew was nearly identical to that of the leaves. My first taste was a bit of a surprise to me as I was actually expecting more of a sweetness. Though it wasn't quite as sweet as I had initially expected, I took a moment to think back to the windmill cookies that this tea has been compared to. I do remember those windmill cookies and they were not overwhelmingly sweet either, so the comparison is actually quite accurate. There was no indication of a strong black tea base, which was actually a plus in this case. The delicate tastes of the cinnamon and almond were able to take center stage.

This ends up being a very nice tea to have available for those evenings when a little something with just a touch of sweetness is desired. It would probably also be a nice accompaniment to a rich dessert as the tea could provide a welcome contrast. All in all, quite a pleasant cup that I will probably be ordering more of in the near future.
