Coconut has to be one of my all-time favorite tea flavors, especially when I am craving something sweet. So of course I was excited to sample Zoomdweebies’ Coconut Cream Pie Black Tea. This tea has a sweet, although somewhat subtle scent of coconuts. Based on its appearance, it would be hard to know that this tea was flavored at all, because the blend looked like plain black tea leaves. This is the first coconut tea I have had that contained no pieces of shredded or dried coconut, although it is possible that perhaps just my sample was missing the coconut flakes. Despite the lack of visible coconut pieces, the tea did have a pleasant coconut flavor, and the flavoring leaned more towards a natural essence than artificial flavoring. The flavor of the tea was purely coconut, not of any additional flavors, so I could do without the “cream pie” elaboration of the tea’s name. The color of this brew is very dark, as is typical of most flavored black teas. This tea is served best with milk and sugar to accentuate the coconut flavor. This tea is a good morning blend, but could also be a tasty accompaniment to dessert. Zoomdweebies’ Coconut Cream Pie Black Tea was not remarkable or memorable, and it was not the best coconut tea I have sampled, but I still enjoyed drinking it. I certainly wouldn’t refuse this tea if it was offered to me again, but I won’t be going out of my way to obtain more of it, because I do believe that there are tastier coconut teas out there. In all though, my experience with this tea was a positive one. I only wish the tea had real coconut pieces in it to enhance the natural coconut flavor. If you are looking for a show-stopping tea experience, this isn’t the tea I would recommend. But if you just want to relax and enjoy a sweet cup of tea, then give Zoomdweebies’ Coconut Cream Pie Black Tea a try.
