Vendor's Description:
This is a tea that has become renowned for its weight loss properties. This rare and unique oolong from the Wuyi Mountains in the Fuijan Province, China, consists of medium oxidized, unrolled amber brown leaf with greenish highlights. A sophisticated dark amber liquor reveals flavors of raisins and honeysuckle and a fantastic toasted almonds. A simply outstanding tea for the health conscious connoisseur. Also known as wu-long.

Aroma:
• Dry Leaves: smoky, nutty
• Wet Leaves: Smoked Almonds, light raisin finish
5. Subdued smoked almond topnote, deep raisin body
6. subdued smoked almond topnote, deep honeysuckle body
7. strong toasted almond body, slight honeysuckle finish
8. all aroma subdued, only a faint raisin & toasted almond scent remain

Taste:
1. smoky toasted almond body, light raisin finish
2. smoky toasted almond body, hints of raisin, strong honeysuckle finish
3. sweet chocolaty toasted almonds, extremely faint honeysuckle finish
4. faint toasted almonds, faint raisin body

Overall Impressions:
Overall, I was unimpressed with this tea. The first 2 infusions were too smoky, the third just OK, and the 4th, nearly flavorless. The dry leaves were about 50% large and good quality leaves, and 50% small bits of leaves. The 3rd infusion had a pleasing chocolate toasted almond flavor, but lacked complexity. Additionally, the raisin taste never appeared as more than a subdued element of the body. I would not recommend buying this tea.

I love this tea. I steep it it simply in a ceramic pot with a metal basket infusor for 3-4 minutes. No smoky flavor like above, but a really, nice toasty flavor that is deep and rich with a hint of honey sweetness. I think this is an outstanding full flavored oolong and it is my main staple morning oolong.
