Review: The Necessiteas Strawberry Shortcake

"A strawberry-infused white tea with a well-defined toasted/vanilla background flavor... the name "Strawberry Shortcake" is aptly chosen."

Linsey Manning at The Necessiteas has a unique gift when it comes to making flavored teas - there's just no two ways about it. There are dozens of companies out there that sell teas with cutesy names like "Devil's Food Delight" or " Candied Apple" or "Strawberry Decadence." Generally you can get the general drift of the flavors promised by the title, but its never quite as appetizing as the marketing let on. Not so with Linsey's teas. When she calls a blend "Strawberry Shortcake," you'll know for darned sure that what you taste in your cup is going to be about close as you can get to strawberry shortcake in tea form.Once again, what's promised is what's delivered - a strawberry-infused white tea, with a mellow toasted/vanilla flavor in the background that does indeed taste very much like fresh-baked shortcake. I enjoyed this cup, though perhaps not as much as some of her previous, similarly themed teas like "Carrot Cake" or "Strawberry Cheesecake," which had a bit more complexity and heft to them (and generally relied more on black teas and rooibos, instead of white tea). Nevertheless I would definitely recommend this blend to anyone who's a fan of strawberry teas.

Please allow me to introduce a new Strawberry tea. It’s called Strawberry Vanilla and is by Lupicia. This is a green tea base with Matcha infused with just the right flavor of strawberry and vanilla. It is also a visually “pretty” tea. I love it! Frankly, I am surprised thatI have not seen Lupicia Teas on Teaviews website. They can be found at http://www.lupiciausa.com – Try them!
