Thumbs up!"A delicious English Breakfast type blend, with an unusual bit of spice that you don't find in other blends. I enjoyed it quite a bit."

specialteas-english-high-gr.jpg It is so easy to review teas from SpecialTeas. They offer ½ oz samples of their teas for $1 in most cases. And their low flat-rate shipping charge makes it very convenient to order several teas to try. Of course, that does not really matter if the teas are not any good. Fortunately, my experience with teas from SpecialTeas has been generally positive. As a big fan of Breakfast teas ...œ especially English ...œ I ordered a sample of English High-Grown Leaf Blend.

According to SpecialTeas, English High-Grown is an “[a]romatic breakfast blend of high-grown Ceylons, fine Assam and Nilgiri teas.” What results is a very nice English Breakfast Tea. A good cup of tea involves not only taste, but the aroma that welcomes you. English High-Grown has a wonderful, rich, and traditional aroma that reminds me why I love black teas. Ceylon and Assam blends are not uncommon among breakfast teas, but I believe this is the first one I have tried with Nilgiri (named for the region in southern India from which it comes). It must add something to the flavor, because this tea really stands out among English Breakfast teas. I can tell a very subtle difference, like a wisp of spice. It has a nice aftertaste that is classic black tea.

SpecialTeas English High-Grown Leaf Blend is one of the best breakfast teas I have had. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would highly recommend it. I might make it my regular morning cup of tea.
