After having Mighty Leaf’s Masala Chocolate Truffle, I was really excited to try the Chocolate Mint Truffle. Out of their chocolate truffle teas, these are the only two that are vegan, thusly making them the only two I can sample. The first one being so wonderful, I had high hopes for this tea.
You can’t have everything, though, and in comparison this tea certainly fell flat. It smells fresh and minty, and brews up a rich, almost coffee-colored cup. The tea is somewhat watery, and the chocolate flavor is very sparse. It’s just a subtle aftertaste.
Mint is what stands out here, and though that aspect is quite pleasant, this is a chocolate dessert tea.
If anything, I’d recommend this as a mint tea. It’s very refreshing and smells great, it’s just not what the name suggests.
