"A good introduction to pu'er... earthy but still mild, with a pleasingly light touch of rose flavor. Unfortunately I could not successfully brew multiple infusions with this tea."

I have to say that I was a bit terrified to try this tea. I have never had Pu-erh tea before so I had no idea what to expect. I’ve heard from those who sang its praises as well as those who absolutely hate pu-erh tea. I brewed this tea in my glass tea pot so that I could watch it brew. I had only seen the large cakes of pu-erh so I was pleasantly surprised to find this tea was pressed into neat little single-serve bowl shapes. According to Mighty Leaf, The depression in the tea allows it to dry more quickly and be broken more easily later.
The brew had a really nice golden color. It had a robust and earthy aroma to it and the taste was just as pleasant. I could just barely detect a hint of the rose petals that this tea is infused with. While I expected it to be more floral, I’m glad that the addition of the rose petals did not mask the taste of the tea. One of the things I found the most interesting during my research is that many infusions were possible from just a small amount of tea. The one disappointment I had was that I could really only get one infusion from this tea. Perhaps it is because this particular pu-erh is not aged. While not perfect it was still a pretty good tea and a mild introduction into the world of pu-erh for a newbie like me. I would definitely recommend this tea.
