Review: The Necessiteas Peppermint Pattie
Chocolate Tea, Mint Tea, Rooibos Tea, The Necessiteas Add comments![]() | "A decent cup of mint-chocolate tea, but not quite the flavor explosion one might expect with a name like Peppermint Pattie."

A new blend from Linsey Manning, this one promises a “cool sensation” reminiscent of a York peppermint pattie candy. I always loved those things growing up, so I was really looking forward to sampling this blend, which is made up of rooibos, cocoa and mint.
The final product was good, but not quite the blast of cool, chocolatey freshness I was looking forward to. The main flavor here is the mint, which comes at you head on, but the cocoa is all but imperceptible until the aftertaste. Only then do all the flavors come together nicely, indeed, almost like a peppermint pattie. But for me, with a name like this, I was expecting a bit more chocolate and a bit more zing and minty bite. I remember being a lot more impressed with Linsey’s “Belgian Mint Truffle”, which was another chocolate mint tea, only that time it was mixed with black tea instead of rooibos.
All the same, its a good and very drinkable tea - I just think the name sets expectations that the final blend doesn’t quite match.
