Zoomdweebies Good Morning Black tea is – as implied by its name – a breakfast blend. Their website does not describe the tea leaves involved, but does notes that it includes orange peel, lemon peel and cinnamon. This is my second tea from Zoomdweebies and both have been breakfast blends. In this one, it is the cinnamon that stands out in the aroma, even though the orange peels were clearly evident in the pouch. For years, the only hot black teas I could drink were orange cinnamon varieties. Of course, they were the ‘cheaper’ brands and I have been looking forward to trying a quality tea with these flavors.I have been steeping my black teas for less time lately to see how it effects the flavor and for the most part have found it improved. This time, I steeped for just over three minutes, using boiling water of course. This one has a very nice aroma that reminds me of the earlier orange – cinnamon teas, but with a stronger black tea element. This is what I was hoping for since I like a good, strong black tea. The orange peel is slightly noticeable, but it is the cinnamon that really stands out.

Although I was slightly disappointed with the flavor, I still like this tea. It is exactly what I expected; a classic orange-cinnamon tea, with a better quality flavor. It is not as strong as I had hoped, and I am not sure I would call it a breakfast tea. In fact, I think it would make an ideal tea for the afternoon. Cinnamon is the dominant flavor and lingers long after the tea is gone. The orange peel is still noticeable, but the lemon flavor seems only to accent the orange. This tea is much less astringent than most strong breakfast teas. All in all, another good – if not remarkable – tea from Zoomdweebies that would make a nice cup in the afternoon or on a cold day.
