"Hot or cold, this tea was satisfying, delicious, and changed my opinion of greens. I imagine it would be the best tasting iced tea ever."

I will admit I picked this tea just for the name of it. My friends have a daughter named Lily so it caught my eye. Normally, I drink green tea with flavor(s) in it because the typical green tea astringency doesn’t appeal to me. The flavor tends to mask it. So I’ve always considered myself more of a black tea lover, and don’t usually order any green. This tea changes all that.
Dry and before brewing, it smells crisp and freshly harvested. The long leaves have an almost silvery sheen and look like blades of grass. After steeping, it yields a pale brew with a beautiful yellowish tint. Surprisingly, it is virtually odorless while hot.
Then I sipped it, expecting the green tea flavor that instantly dries out my mouth and makes me thirstier. Perhaps I’ve been drinking the wrong green teas, because there was none of the dryness I expected. Oh, it’s good. It is velvety and fresh at the same time.
Bitterness? None. Astringency? Nonexistent. Thirst-quenching properties? 100%
Hot or cold, this tea was satisfying, delicious, and changed my opinion of greens. I imagine it would be the best tasting iced tea ever. Guess I’ll have to try it!
So thanks to Lily down in Southern Ohio for inspiring me to find this tea. I will definitely reorder. And on that note, I’m really digging Rishi Tea. This is the second kind I’ve had of theirs and supremely enjoyed them both. Plus, I really love some of the names of their tea – they are so natural and exotic and compelling (Moonlight White, Jade Oolong, Golden Needle for example).
