Review: Jacksons of Piccadilly Green Tea with Elderflower
Elderflower Tea, Green Tea, Jacksons of Piccadilly Add comments"The green tea is not the best quality I’ve ever tried, but it was good in its own right, and the elderflower seemingly smoothed out the astringent bite."

This tea came in teabags, so I didn’t have to brew it loose and there was nothing remarkable to say about its appearance. Well, except that the loose teas I’ve been trying seem to have large sized ingredients and this was more like someone ground it all up and shoved in a bag. This is probably the case.
Anyway, I was expecting something akin to jasmine, the telltale sweet aroma and taste. This is nothing like it. I’m not even sure if it’s a blooming tea, a scented tea, a flowery tea, or an herbal tea. That is because there is evidently no website for Jacksons of Piccadilly, and despite claims of elderflower being popular in Europe, precious little information on it as an actual tea. The only thing that came up when I typed in the company & tea was a review from Stephen on Teaviews! Ha! So I guess I’m on my own with this one, no frame of reference.
So. First off, when hot it smells like oranges. Not a slight orange smell, but really and truly like freshly squeezed orange juice. Or an orange tic-tac, that may be more accurate. The taste is not orangey, however. It’s really not overly flavorful, but mild and pleasant. I enjoyed two cups in a row because the taste is slightly flowery, slightly sweet, and totally refreshing. It’s an easy tea to drink and enjoy in the afternoon, with no heavy flavors to concentrate on. The green tea is not the best quality I’ve ever tried, but it was good in its own right, and the elderflower seemingly smoothed out the astringent bite.
Elderflower itself holds some medicinal properties. Allegedly, it is supposed to help hay fever and allergies, both of which I am afflicted with. Hmm…maybe drinking this will finally allow me to pet my cats and not worry about touching my eyes after! Also, it is used to promote a deep sleep when imbibed at nigh…zzzzzzz…Oh! Whoops! I nodded off! Sorry! Anyway, it’s good and I’d recommend it! I’d buy it if I saw it, but it seems a little elusive on the internet.

I cant possibly think why anyone would want to grind up blooming tea and serve it in a bag. Blooming Teas are hand crafted beautiful flowers encased in loose leaf green tea. When steeped, they open up and let the flower arrangement loose.

You’re right. Once I found the website, it was extremely cool but…no green tea with elderflower tea there, either.
