"A high-quality Irish breakfast with a lot to offer, though it trends a bit toward the pricey side."

Irish Breakfast Special Reserve is a great tea for those that like a nice hearty cup of tea in the morning. The tea, which combines black teas with Chinese, Sri Lankan, and Indian origins, has a strong malty flavor with some hints of natural sweetness. This tea is definitely a rich and satisfying brew that, in my opinion, is best enjoyed with a splash of milk and sugar. As its name implies, Golden Moon’s Irish Breakfast Special Reserve is a morning blend, with enough substance that it could probably get even the staunchest coffee addict up and moving. Golden Moon states that this blend is made from ultra-premium estate teas, and based on the wonderful taste of this tea, I have no doubts that this is a high-quality tea blend. Golden Moon also states that the tea has subtle notes of ripe cherries, dark prunes, and hints of hazelnuts and honey. Personally, I found that statement to be a bit of a stretch, but maybe that statement could be true for someone who has hyper-sensitive taste buds. At the very least, I did detect a sweetness that perhaps could be compared to honey. My overall opinion of this tea is positive; this high-quality tea certainly has more to offer than any supermarket variety I have tried. I don’t think Golden Moon’s Irish Breakfast Special Reserve will be replacing my current “go to” Irish Breakfast (by Adagio), because even though it was a good tea, Irish Breakfast Special Reserve just wasn’t that amazing to justify the price tag ($18.99 for a 3.6oz tin) when compared to more affordable options out there.
