Nicole’s Teaview Snapshot
"Sweet and flowery, with a smooth, buttery aftertaste. Of all the Oolong teas I have tried, this is one of my favorites"
|
Bao Zhong undergoes light fermentation and as such is almost like a green tea. It is produced in Pingling which is the center of northern Taiwanese tea manufacturing. Taiwan is the seventh largest producer of tea in the world. I used my Zarafina tea maker to make this tea, set on strong Oolong. The leaves of this tea have an earthy, slightly fruity aroma. They are long, deep green in color and are not rolled. The brew was lemony yellow color and smelled a lot like honeysuckle. It was sweet, flowery in taste and became slightly more vegetal as it cools. Rishi describes it as having notes of lilac and lily. There was a smooth, buttery aftertaste. I enjoyed this tea very much and would definitely recommend it. It is on the expensive side but I think in this case you get what you pay for. If I do purchase it, I would save it for when I need a pick me up after a long day at work. Of all the Oolong teas I have tried, this is one of my favorites.
