"A nice crossover from jasmine green teas; this is a bit darker in flavor and the floral aroma is strong enough to be appealing and not overpowering at all."

The Rishi websites describes this as having a “flowery aroma, brisk flavor, smooth body and fruity finish”—that’s a lot to ask for in a tea but I agree. If someone mixed a great jasmine tea with white wine, this is what they would come up with. The dry tea buds are a bit tighter than other oolongs, looking closer to gunpowders. The white wine and spring green aromas are there, typical to oolongs, but this oolong has a touch more body and a greater floral scent that makes it a familiar, great-tasting oolong. Even though the tea smells vegetal in the pot, it’s not strong and shouldn’t be a turn off to people who are wary of that flavor. The aftertaste is reminiscent of white wine as well, a bit dry, fragrant, and acidic—I wouldn’t call it fruity, but I think this is what they’re referring to—that I’m loving. This is a nice crossover from jasmine green teas; this is a bit darker in flavor and the floral aroma is strong enough to be appealing and not overpowering at all. I’m not sure this is different enough from substantive jasmine teas to justify having both, but it’s a nice variation.
