There is something so nourishing that I love about oolongs: the malty green flavors taste like someone made wine out of field of baby green shoots. The dried leaves of this tea are like other oolongs...little wads of crumpled leaves, as though some fairy woodland creature got really pissed off. Once steeped, I can identify mostly whole leaves with the familiar vegetal wine scent. The flavor is dry, fragrant, and subtle with a smooth medium body...very satisfying. There is a trace of something floral, but it's more a feeling than an identifiable trait. At the second steeping, everything is a bit more subtle...the color, flavor, and scent. This is a gently complex tea that would make a great everyday choice.
