I was intrigued to see a tea that was fortified with natural vitamin C. Any way to get more C in your diet is good. Even more interesting was seeing carrots listed as an ingredient, whoever thought of adding carrots to tea? This will be interesting to try.
There are a lot of ingredients in this tea. Just look at those large pieces of carrots. They don’t even look dried out or shriveled they might as well have come straight from the garden. I was somewhat put off by the smell - the first thing that came to my mind was chewable vitamin C tablets - Yuck. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that while infusing, the nice hearty rooibos aroma came through. The vitamin stink gave way to a refreshing orange scent. When sipping this tea you get a burst of citrus flavor that does not taste artificial. It really goes well with that classic rooibos taste. Rooibos teas are usually good iced and this is no exception. The orange flavor adds another dimension to a delicious glass of iced tea.
This tea would be good anytime, but especially in the summer. It’s also a great tea when you have a cold or think you might be getting one because of the extra C and the natural antioxidants in rooibos.
