teapigs-super-fruit1.jpgIf you haven’t had the opportunity to peruse the Teapigs website, I would highly recommend it. It is filled with interesting tea information as well as quite a bit of humor. Although it would appear the humor may appeal only to those who appreciate tea, as my husband didn’t seem to understand why I was chuckling to myself! Their “tea temples” are silk tea bags which contain high quality ingredients that appear to rival most loose leaf teas.

The Super Fruit tea in the temple is actually quite beautiful, a very dark wine colored blend with whole dried blueberries and large pieces of cranberry. The light, fruity aroma is quite pleasant but not at all overwhelming. Immediately upon adding hot water, you begin to see the development of a rich red brew that in the end quite resembles a cup of cranberry juice. The cranberry also provided a tartness that could not be mistaken. As a fan of cranberry juice, I found this tea delicious. I was unable to taste any actual blueberry flavor but seeing the blueberries in the temple, I know for a fact they are there. This is an herbal tea, so it would be suitable for any time of day or night.
