Mixing grapefruit and green tea could either be a complete disaster or a surprisingly pleasant experience. Luckily for me, it turns out that Lupicia's Grapefruit Green tea was the latter. The green tea base is springy and grassy, yet not overpoweringly so. The grapefruit essence is completely natural in taste, and comes through very strongly in both the aroma and flavor. The grapefruit essence was so true, that it almost seemed as if grapefruit juice had been mixed in with green tea. I opened up the tea bag after use to examine the contents: broken pieces of tea leaves (but still of decent size) and fairly decent sized pieces of grapefruit rind. This tea was refreshing, especially since this is not a flavor of tea that I would typically choose. As I only had one teabag to sample and I tried it hot, I can only guess that based on the crisp citrus flavor, this tea is probably better served iced. In all, I did enjoy my cup of Lupicia's Grapefruit Green tea, but I wasn't bowled over by it, mostly because I like, not love, grapefruit juice. Because this tea is so strong on the grapefruit flavor, whether or not you like this tea will really come down to how much you love grapefruits.
