Vanessa’s Teaview Snapshot
 | "The peppermint featured in Purity is by far the most intense in flavor and of the highest quality that I have ever had" |

Until receiving some of their samples, Tavalon was one of those tea vendors that slipped below my radar screen. I was, however, lucky enough to be enlightened by receiving one of their blends for review. This review is for one of their blends, called "Purity",and has resulted in adding Tavalon to my "must-order-from-soon" list. The Purity tea is a blend of Ceylon black tea and peppermint. I have always been a fan of peppermint tea, but for some reason I have only considered it as a stand-alone ingredient in a caffeine-free herbal tea. Tavalon's mix of a very bold and refreshing peppermint with a tasty Ceylon tea is a winner, offering a cleansing and soothing peppermint flavor with a caffeinated wake-me-up black tea. This tea passes the "sniff test", with a wonderfully strong and natural peppermint aroma. When brewed, the tea is, in a word, delicious. The flavor here is almost entirely peppermint with just the slightest hint that some Ceylon leaves are in the mix. The dry blend, however, appears to be almost a 50-50 mix of peppermint and Ceylon. I have consumed alot of peppermint teas, including those that I have grown with lots of TLC in my own backyard garden. As much as I would like to say that my home-grown peppermint reigns supreme, I must admit that the peppermint featured in Purity is by far the most intense in flavor and of the highest quality that I have ever had. Just a nice whiff of the dried blend or the brewed tea is enough to really clear out the nose. Being a huge peppermint fan, I can say that I love this tea. It remains to be said, then, that if you are not a peppermint lover, this tea might be a little too bold for you. Interestingly, when I navigated to Tavalon's website to read more about this particular blend, the details also list ginger root as an ingredient. With the peppermint flavor so strong, I could not detect even a smidgen of ginger, which I must admit I did not miss at all. I highly recommend Purity for the mint lover...the boldness of this tea lives up to the tea's name.
