strawberry.jpgMy sample of this tea included one perfect strawberry and what appear to be fairly fairly large broken pieces of white tea leaves. The aroma of this tea is of fresh, juicy strawberries and for some strange reason I couldn't get the old Beatles song about strawberry fields out of my mind while enjoying this one. The Teagschwendner website states that the white tea used in this blend is from India. The finished brew was a clear, pale, golden color and the strawberry aroma was still present, though not quite as strong as in the dry leaves. The white tea used was a perfect base as it in no way overwhelms the strawberry flavor but adds a smooth and subtle finish. I found that adding a little bit of sweetener brought out even more of the strawberry flavor.

I drank this tea hot and enjoyed it immensely, but I have no doubt that it would make a delightfully thirst quenching iced tea as well. I attempted a second brewing of the leaves and even allowed the plumped up perfect strawberry to float around in my second cup. While the result was still a very good cup of tea, nearly all remnants of the strawberry flavor were gone, leaving a pleasant white tea in its place.
