Thumbs up!"The hot drink tastes mostly likes tart berries--even sweetened with a tsp of sugar. It is ok, but this is just one of those herbals that is meant to be served cold. My cold version is also sweetened and tastes like summer berries with a slightly tart aftertaste."

carribeanbreeze.jpgTeavana describes Caribbean Breeze as "A torrid tropical melange of strawberry and raspberry pieces accented by passionfruit, citrus, blue mallow, sunflower and rose flavors (and scents). This sweet delight is extremely high in Vitamin C." Teavana's Caribbean Breeze Herbal mixed with their Apple Lemon Pomegranate Rooibos(served cold) was a regular staple in my fridge this summer. I buy both of them from my local Teavana by the truckload. However, because I like the blend of the two teas together so well, it has been a stretch since I have had the Caribbean Breeze by itself and I don't think I have ever had it hot. Therefore, as I sit to write this, I have a glass of this cold and a hot cup inf front of me too.

This is hands down the most beautiful herbal that I have laid eyes on--almost makes you want to put it out as decor. It also smells like a summer berry patch. You can steep this for a nice long time (10-12 min) to bring out the flavors and it brews up to a rich raspberry color. The hot drink tastes mostly likes tart berries--even sweetened with a tsp of sugar. It is ok, but this is just one of those herbals that is meant to be served cold. My cold version is also sweetened and tastes like summer berries with a slightly tart aftertaste. In my opinion, this drink requires at least a nominal amount of sweetener. I suspect with a tad more sugar that you could all but eliminate the tartness. I used 1 tsp of rock cane sugar in each drink, also from Teavana.

This blend reminds me of summer. I think it would be more appropriately named if it had a little coconut in it and went in that direction. I believe that if a little sweetener is added to this and it is served cold that children would love this. Stand alone, I like this and it would probably still have a place in my fridge during the warmer months of the year. However, it is outstanding when mixed in equal parts with the Apple Lemon Pomegranate Rooibos. That is a must-have! When the two are blended together they would receive a 9 rating. Ultimately, I recommend this, but get some Apple Lemon Pomegranate to go with it and drink it chilled and lightly sweetened. Further, if you go into a Teavana, you can buy it by the glass and try it out before you commit.
