darjeeling.jpgThis tea was way too sour. Like the other Steenbergs' peace tea I tried, it just doesn't taste fresh or sweet or tea-like. This tastes more like raw hibiscus tea with that bile-like sourness to it. The first sip wasn't too bad. At first I thought it was acceptable, possibly even mild and pleasant. But by the third sip it became painfully obvious that it wasn't up to par with even Lipton tea.

I can't figure out why it doesn't really taste like plain black Darjeeling tea. It tastes like there is an element in it meant to draw the drinker away from the fact that the tea base is not good. Perhaps there should be an actual flavor in it that masks the tea base. I wish I could have liked it because I do like the company after visiting their website. However, I have to call a spade a spade. This tea is not good enough for the discriminating tea lover. It is not good enough for the average tea drinker. It just isn't good. This tea is definitely a no for me and will be the end of my foray into Steenbergs' Organics.
