On Tavalon's website teas are listed as having various functions, making the choices easier if you are looking for specific effects. This one has "balancing" and "calming" as its functions and that sounds great to me. This herbal blend has chamomile, peppermint, lemongrass, rooibos, and vanilla in it. I see the first three ingredients in a number of herbal blends, but the addition of rooibos and vanilla sound like a creamy and intriguing addition. I can detect the chamomile and mint in the dry tea, and in my teacup, it's the same: mostly chamomile and mint. The light body is very smooth, with no discernible aftertaste. I keep hoping to identify the vanilla and rooibos, but other than a very slight sweetness, I can't find a connection, especially to the vanilla. The taste is of a very nice chamomile tea with a pleasant minty aftertaste; this would be great just before bed, or anytime a person needed to relax. This tea is very well done, but not a stand-out among all the other chamomile and mint teas out there.
