"The aroma and flavor of this tea are what I look for in a premium quality green tea."

Green teas are often described as vegetal. For green tea lovers, that is praise. For those who have not yet developed affection for the fresh flavor of the leaf, the word vegetal would sound like the stuff your mother tried to force you to eat as a child.
In the case of Kabuse Sencha, vegetal is very high praise. This is evident in the dry leaf; thin, flat and with a beautiful variegation of green hues. I recognized this quality as a product of shaded fields. Some tea fields are covered with shade cloth before picking to make the new leaves a darker green. When I checked the website, the tea company confirmed that their field had been shaded to produce this Sencha.
The aroma and flavor of this tea are what I look for in a premium quality green tea.
