"The tea itself is smooth and just a bit drying to the palate. This is not a very spicy tea despite the ingredients so those that are spice sensitive should enjoy this."

"The Alsace region in France is know for its fabulous flavors. This tea combines black tea with orange, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, orange peels and flower petals. This is a lovely tea to share with family and friends." --- Summit Teas website.Well as a person whose family in large part came from the Alsace region of France, I am thrilled to taste this tea. I am huge fan of nutmeg in my holiday tea and eggnog and there is no reason given the ingredients that I shouldn't absolutely love this. Further, I have been finding that I love some of the French tea blenders (Mariage Freres) and according to Summit Tea's website, this is part of a selection of teas that they offer from Dammann Freres, who happens to be a master blender from France.
I steeped my leaves in water that had been brought to boiling and allowed to cool a couple of degrees for 4 minutes. I brewed my cup a little on the strong side. It smells incredible with lots of nutmeg and orange dominating the aroma. This is flavored blend, but one in which you taste the tea with various flavor notes and it is very well done. For you clove lovers, this is not a clove dominated blend, which I happen to love as so often clove comes in and takes over the flavor profile. I can definitely pick out the cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange notes as well. I liked this sweetened and it takes milk well. The tea itself is smooth and just a bit drying to the palate. This is not a very spicy tea despite the ingredients so those that are spice sensitive should enjoy this.
This is an excellent blend and really well done. If I had my druthers, I would kick the flavor profile up just a notch, but I love this and I will definitely be ordering some in the future.
