Tea Guys Cafe Latte is a blend of black tea, coffee beans, cocoa, chicory, barley and other natural flavors. TeaGuys' website says "The combination of dark roasted, organic coffee beans, (fresh from our local coffee roaster) and select black teas produces a strong and energizing cup that is best with milk. A blend that offers enough caffeine to please coffee drinkers, and smooth enough for tea lovers - the best of both worlds." I thought this would be a really interesting tea blend, but in the end, this one fell far short of my expectations. I was hoping for a happy union of coffee and tea, but all I could taste was the coffee. Coffee just doesn't seem to be a good team player, so none of the other ingedients were even slightly detectable. I should point out that I am not a huge fan of coffee, so a tea that tastes nothing like tea and entirely like coffee probably isn't going to score too high with me. I guess this could be an ideal tea to have on hand for the die-hard coffee drinkers who are hesitant to try tea, but even still, this one doesn't even give a glimpse of how tasty tea can be, and the brew probably will be perceived as too watery/weak to really pass for coffee. Rather than enhance the flavor of black tea, the coffee flavor just masked it. As a tea lover, I must admit disappointment with the overpowering coffee flavor and the complete inability to discern any of the black tea and other flavors of the blend. This tea blend seems to have an identity crisis, where it really doesn't know what it wants to be. Does it want to be coffee, or does it want to be tea? It definitely does not shine in either of these individual aspects, and nor does it come through as a balanced blend.
