The aroma of this primarily reminds me of caramel corn! I followed the steeping directions and out came an interesting cup of tea. It brews up to a gold color and smells like popcorn. You will not find this to be a vegetal green but will find a green that is overpowered by the toasted rice coupled with a sweetness that I don't exactly identify as caramel. I drank the first part of the cup unsweetened and later added a little rock cane sugar to see if that would bring out the caramel flavor a little, which it didn't.
This is an unusual cup of tea. The toasted rice definitely adds an interesting component. I did enjoy drinking it and will drink the other cup or two in my sample, but this is not something that I would reach for on a regular basis. I found myself left wanting more caramel. Since I am a tea blending fan, I will likely add some of my caramel rooibos to it and would be willing to bet that will make it wonderful. Since Teaguys offer a sample size of this, I would recommend ordering that to start.
Update: I decided to finish off the sample with an added tsp of caramel rooibos. It did make it a little better, but still not a fav.
