Thumbs up!"The chocolate and raspberry flavors are there, but it tastes more like a packet of raspberry hot chocolate that was mixed in too much water. The rooibos is hardly present but does offer a slightly smoky undercurrent that doesn’t add or detract from the brew as a whole."

kalharichocoraspberry.jpgI am a self-proclaimed chocoholic. The way to my heart is to give me chocolate covered fruit or fruit creams of any variety (except lime!). And if you really want to impress me, send me a box of chocolate covered cherries and raspberry creams. So it's no surprise that I started salivating when I saw this variety of tea up for grabs. Because while I would certainly drink anything that has to do with raspberry and chocolate, my other addiction just happens to be flavored rooibos. So combine all three and they may as well have called me personally and asked what I would prefer in a tea. I think I threatened Stephen with bodily harm if he didn't send me this sample (along with a few others). So being the nice guy he is, he sent me this flavor ASAP.

Now, if I could only make the tea taste the way it smells. The aroma of it is like dark, creamy, delicious chocolate covered raspberries that melt in your mouth. The tea itself is absolutely delicious but doesn't have that decadent quality I was hoping for. The fragrance of the tea sure does. The taste falls short of the aroma and as a whole tastes slightly watered down. The chocolate and raspberry flavors are there, but it tastes more like a packet of raspberry hot chocolate that was mixed in too much water. The rooibos is hardly present but does offer a slightly smoky undercurrent that doesn't add or detract from the brew as a whole.

I still loved it. There is much to love about this tea, not as a gourmet artisan tea but as a packet of chocolaty goodness like Swiss Miss. Guilt-free at that! I will be ordering more of it to satiate some of my chocolate cravings - not all, but some. I think that the aroma goes a long way to cure your chocoholic tendencies and the tea is yummy so it's a great treat to have instead of that brownie, piece of cake, or candy bar. I will utilize it during the holidays to cut down on my calorie intake and make room for other Christmas treats that aren't necessarily chocolate. Like gingerbread, sugar cookies, and candy canes...
